Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Monday, July 15, 2024 and agreed to recommend the payment of an Interim Dividend of $14.00 per share for 2024.

Dividends will be paid to shareholders on August 5, 2024. The share register will be closed for the period July 23 – August 5 2024,  both days inclusive, to facilitate the payment of the Interim Dividend.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Monday, March 04, 2024 and agreed to recommend the payment of a Final Dividend of $6.50 per share for 2023.

When added to the two interim dividends of $13.00 and $5.00 paid earlier, the total dividend for the year 2023 amounts to $24.50.

The Board of Directors of GBTI have appointed Mr. Shawn Gurcharran as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from April 02, 2024. Mr. James Foster, the current CEO vacates that position effective March 31, 2024.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Friday, December 1, 2023 and agreed to recommend the payment of an Interim Dividend of $5.00 per share for 2023.

This recommendation has been approved by the Bank of Guyana and dividends will be paid to shareholders on December 21, 2023. The share register will be closed for the period December 6 – December 19 2023,  both days inclusive, to facilitate the payment of the Interim Dividend.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 and agreed to recommend the payment of an Interim Dividend of $13.00 per share for 2023.  This recommendation has been approved by the Bank of Guyana and dividends will be paid to shareholders on August 14, 2023. The share register will be closed for the period July 31 – August 14 2023,  both days inclusive, to facilitate the payment of the Interim Dividend.

Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry  Limited will hold their 35th Annual General Meeting on Monday June 23, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at GBTI Corporate Office, High & Young streets, Kingston, Georgetown. The payment of a Final Dividend of $8.00 per share to be paid on June 26, 2023.  The share register will be closed for the period June 9-23, 2023 to facilitate the payment of the Final Dividend to shareholders on record as at June 9, 2023.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 and agreed to recommend the payment of a Second  Interim Dividend of $6.00 per share for 2022.

This recommendation has been approved by the Bank of Guyana and dividends will be paid to shareholders on December 22, 2022. The share register will be closed for the period December 7 – December 21 2022,  both days inclusive, to facilitate the payment of the Second Interim Dividend.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and agreed to recommend the payment of an Interim Dividend of $6.00 per share for 2022.

This recommendation has been approved by the Bank of Guyana and dividends will be paid to shareholders on August 31, 2022. The share register will be closed for the period August 17 – August 31 2022,  both days inclusive, to facilitate the payment of the Interim Dividend.

The Board of Directors of Demerara Bank Limited met on April 27, 2022 and recommended an Interim Dividend of $0.40 per share for the half-year ended March 31, 2022 payable on May 20, 2022.

Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry  Limited will hold their 34th Annual General Meeting on Monday May 23, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at GBTI Corporate Office, High & Young streets, Kingston, Georgetown.

The meeting will be held in a hybrid from (virtually/limited physical attendance) and conducted in the manner directed by Order of the Court.

1. In order to reduce the number of members in physical attendance at the AGM to the requisite amount needed to constitute a quorum, members may appoint any one of the following designated persons to be their proxy and attend and vote on their behalf, that is to say:

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. recommend the payment of a Final Dividend of $12.50 per share, which will bring total dividends to $16.00 for 2021. This recommendation is subject to the approval of the Bank of Guyana and the shareholders at their Annual General Meeting.

Effective March 16, 2022, Mr. James Eoin Foster has been confirmed Chief Executive Officer of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Limited. Mr. Foster was previously Chief Executive Officer (acting). He is now confirmed to the substantive position.

The Directors of Guyana Bank for Trade & Industry Ltd. met on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 and agreed to recommend the payment of an Interim Dividend of $3.50 per share for 2021.

This recommendation is subject to the approval of the Bank of Guyana.

Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry  Limited will hold their 33rd Annual General Meeting on Monday June21, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at GBTI Corporate Office, High & Young streets, Kingston, Georgetown.

“In light of the restrictions on public gatherings as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the meeting will be held virtually via Zoom Meeting portal as directed by Court order.

1. No more than ten individuals of whom six individuls whose names are set out at (i)-(vi) below representing personally or by proxy, no less than 10% of the shareholding of GBTI shall be present  at the meeting in their capacity solely as shareholders namely;

2. Shareholders of GBTI are entitled to observe and participate in the AGM virtually but not to be physically present at the AGM
3. Shareholders of GBTI are entitled to appoint one of the six individuals named at (1) above as their proxy with instructions as to voting on the Resolutions to be proposed at the AGM which are contained in the Notice sent to Shareholders.

GBTI had scheduled its financial year 2019 Annual General Meeting for August 28, 2020, however, as a result of the decisions taken by the government on the protocols for managing COVID-19 and with reference to COVID-19 emergency measures (No.8) published in the Official Gazette 14 August, 2020, the bank has taken the decision to postpone the holding of the aforementioned AGM to a date later in the year. That decision considers the restrictions on large gatherings and the wellbeing of shareholders, employees and the public at large.

The bank is cognizant of its obligations to its shareholders and will work to a timely convening of the AGM in the interest of all stakeholders.
